P-STAR RISING will be screened in collaboration with Doc Lounge at Kulturnatten Stockholm, on the 24th of April at Södra Teatern/Kägelbanan.

This year’s festival was a success!
The 11th Tempo Documentary Festival took place on 10-14 March 2010 in Stockholm and was a great success! During five intense days, the festival presented its biggest program to date with over 100 documentaries at Cinema Victoria, Cinema Rio, Södra Teatern, the Moderns Museum, and Centre for Photography in Stockholm. Tempo had over 6 400 happy visitors to the screenings, seminars, the photo exhibition, and other events. A series of screenings were crowded, among others VIDEOCRACY, BLOOD CALLS YOU, HUR KUNDE HON and LA VIDA LOCA.

The 12th Tempo Documentary Festival will take place on 9-13 March 2011!

For those of you who can’t wait that long, Tempo will return in collaboration with Doc Lounge during Kulturnatten Stockholm on the 24th of April, with a documentary, live act and a party at Södra Teater/Kägelbanan! There will be a Swedish premiere of the price winning documentary P-STAR RISING by director Gabriel Noble, about 9 year old rap artist Priscilla. After the film Aaron Phiri + Vicelow RAF Crew live at the We’re Jamming Afterparty!

Africa Update!

In this year’s main theme we presented 21 inspiring, moving and relevant documentary films from Africa. There were also events and interesting guests visiting the festival to discuss their films.

Documentaries on and by artists

For many years now, video art has had a close affinity to documentarism, an aspect this year’s festival want to acknowledge by jointly presenting art videos/documentaries by artists exploring sociological phenomena relating to a globalised world.

Music Docs!

Punk is prominent in this year’s MUSIC DOCS. Meet South Africa’s Sex Pistols FOKOFPOLISIEKAR, The muslim punk band TAQWACORE and PANSY DIVISION, pioneers in the genre of queercore.
